UPDATE 1/8/21 9AM: Sean Bellafiore with our partners at KWTX-TV said Friday morning that our snow chances are climbing.

"The potential for wintry weather in Central Texas continues to increase and a mixture of rain and snow is expected for most of the area Sunday as a strong storm system swings through," he said. "Temperatures before the snow moves in will be in the upper 30s and 40s but as snow starts to mix in, temperatures should fall and settle close to freezing. It’ll be when temperatures get close to freezing that we have the potential for some snow to accumulate."

Are you excited about the possibility of snow, or are you dreading having to deal with it?

Let is snow, let it snow, let is snow! Bring on the marshmallow world and let's see some of the fluffy stuff.

Ok, ok, I'm getting a little excited here, but I'm a sucker for snow and there's a good chance we could see some in Central Texas this weekend.

Meteorologist Sean Bellafiore with our partners at KWTX-TV tells us there's potential for what he's calling "wintery weather", probably so he doesn't get our hopes up TOO much.

Our chances for snow depend on how a low pressure system moves through Texas Sunday. According to Sean, if it decides to move south of the Dallas Metroplex, some parts of our area could see over an inch of snowfall.

He does a much better job of explaining it than I. You can hear his forecast here.

There's also a chance it could just pass us by and we'll get some freezing rain, but with all the craziness that's been going on lately, I'm going to let myself be optimistic about this. It's been too long since I saw snow, and I want to watch my dog flip out when I take her outside to see it for the firs time. (I'll try to remember to film it and post it here.)

Whatever happens, it looks like Monday morning's going to be absolutely freezing cold, so be sure to take precautions like covering pipes and outside faucets, dripping your indoor faucets and leaving cabinet doors under your sink open, and bringing in outdoor pets and plants so they aren't harmed by the cold.

Fingers crossed for snow, guys! ❄❄❄

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to listen to my favorite snow song to prepare.
