A controversial cover photo has prompted stores across the nation to pull the August issue of Rolling Stone Magazine off their shelves.

Recent polls have found most Americans feel the photo of Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhkokhar Tsarnaev glamorizes him and his actions. The photo shows Tsarnaev looking relaxed in casual dress, depicted more like a pop star than a suspected terrorist.

Some are calling the photo inappropriate and hurtful, with John McCain going so far as to call it stupid. Others, however, feel the image is appropriate given the nature of journalist Janet Reitman’s story, “Jahar: The Making of a Monster”, which Rolling Stone’s editors say is meant to examine the complexities of the Boston bombing and the men who planned and executed it.
