Aaaaand yet another standoff between Amarillo Law Enforcement and some lovely Amarillo residents.

On Tuesday, October 25th Randall County deputies visited the 4600 block of Buffalo Trail serving an arrest warrant for James Glenn off of charges for felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. When deputies approached the house to serve said warrant, Glenn was spotted with a woman who would later be identified as Kristen Clement. Before any arrests could be made Glenn and Clement decided the best course of action would be to barricade themselves inside their property.

Not seeing any other options, deputies had to call professional negotiators and SWAT units. The negotiators were unable to convince the couple to leave the house, subsequently causing the SWAT units to proceed with their orders to enter Glenn's place of residence. The couple was then removed from their property.

And as expected both were taken into custody. Glenn was charged with a previously stated aggravated assault charge and Clements was arrested on unrelated counts of assault and theft.

So what lesson can be taken from this situation? Well, a couple. First off, when surrounded by officers, the best course of action to take is always to comply. Second off, do your best not to catch an aggravated assault charge. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that a charge of that stature may not have the best long term effects. And finally third off, there are better ways to spend time with your friends. Police standoffs never end well, all you end up with is two arrested individuals at the end of the day.

Overall, all this makes for at the end of the day an unpleasant experience for all parties involved.
