Stolen SUV Crashes Into Killeen Home During Police Chase
Killeen police are searching for a suspect who fled from officers in a stolen SUV, then crashed the vehicle into the bedroom of a house and fled on foot.
KWTX's Kathleen Serie reports that officers attempted to stop the Lexus SUV after it ran a red light at the corner of Martin Luther King Jr Blvd. and Veterans Memorial Blvd. around 1:40 AM Wednesday.
The suspect refused to stop and led police on a chase along 38th Street. When the driver reached the 3000 block of 38th, he steered off the road and slammed into the bedroom of a house. He then exited the vehicle and fled north on foot.
The SUV the suspect was driving was reported stolen in Austin.
A resident sleeping in the bedroom that was hit was treated for minor injuries at the scene. Meanwhile, a search for the suspect continued Wednesday morning.
