At a grand opening ceremony Wednesday, Stripes Convenience Stores CEO Sam Susser presented a check for $1,000 to the Children’s Advocacy Center of Central Texas.

CACCT Executive Director Michelle Carter accepted the check on the organization’s behalf during the ceremony at 5511 West Adams Avenue . Speaking to KTEM after the presentation, Carter said the funds will go toward continuing the organization’s efforts to aid abused and neglected children in Bell and Coryell County. The Center provides a safe, kid-friendly environment for victims during the investigation of their cases and works with CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) to help judges make sound and compassionate decisions concerning victims’ futures.

Stripes held grand opening ceremonies at its two new Temple locations Wednesday. The first took place at 11 am at 5001 S. 31st Street. The second was held at the West Adams location at 2 pm. Those in attendance were treated to free food and drink before a ribbon cutting ceremony.
