Suspect Arrested in Houston-Area Hit and Run, 2 Cyclists Die
BROOKSHIRE, Texas (AP) — Officers have arrested a man suspected of driving a vehicle in a Southeast Texas hit and run that left two bicyclists dead and another hurt.
Waller County jail records show Victor Kevin Tome of Dallas was being held Sunday on charges including murder, aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury, accident involving death, accident involving serious bodily injury and burglary.
Authorities say Tome was arrested Saturday a few hours after the accident in Brookshire, 40 miles (64 kilometers) west of Houston. Officials say two riders died, while a third suffered a leg injury.
Investigators say the driver ran from the scene and allegedly broke into a home, but agreed to surrender after being confronted by the resident.
Jail records didn't immediately list bond or an attorney to speak for Tome.
