Temple House Damaged by Fire on New Year’s Day
A Temple family was fortunate to escape unharmed after a fire broke out in their garage Wednesday.
Eight Temple Fire & Rescue units were dispatched to 2906 Ruggles Loop at 12:56 PM and arrived at 1:01 PM. There, they spotted light smoke and flames issuing from the attic of a single-story home. They located the fire in the home's garage, and the blaze was under control by 1:21 PM.
Thankfully, the family inside the home were able to escape safely and no injuries were reported. The fire was confined to a wall and attic space, with light smoke damage throughout the house. The scene was cleared by 2:41 PM.
Temple EMS, police, and personnel from Oncor Electric were also at the scene with fire investigators. The cause of the fire had not been determined Wednesday afternoon.
