Police in Temple are investigating a traffic crash that rendered a man fatally injured Sunday evening.
Officers responded to the single-vehicle crash in the 1200 block of Hilliard Road around 6:12 PM Sunday. When they arrived, they learned that 58-year-old Edward Franklin Denney of Temple had swerved in front of another vehicle before striking a curb and losing control of his motorcycle.
Denney was transported to Baylor Scott and White Medical Center in Temple, where he later succumbed to his injuries. His family had been notified as of this article's publication.
The Temple Police Department's Traffic Reconstruction Unit continued to investigate the circumstances of the crash Monday morning.
The crash occurred less than 24 hours after another collision mere blocks away left a 33-year-old woman dead. Megan Courtney Sewell was fatally injured when her sedan collided with an SUV shortly before 10:40 PM Saturday in the 6400 block of Airport Road. The driver of the SUV was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
