Temple Police Investigating Reports of Man Exposing Himself on Pepper Creek Trail
Temple police are investigating after a man allegedly exposed himself to visitors of Pepper Creek Trail Monday.
Arlene Ordunez posted two photos of a man who allegedly tried to assault her daughter-in-law while the woman was walking her dog along the trail.
According to Ordunez, the man exposed himself to the woman and began touching himself, then ran towards her. The woman screamed, alerting a nearby bicyclist who happened to be an off-duty police officer. The man fled, and the officer left the woman with an older couple while he pursued the suspect.
While the officer was away, the woman and the couple spotted the man coming from under a bridge dressed in different clothes. The couple were able to get photos of the man before he fled.
On Wednesday, Temple police posted to Facebook to say they are aware of reports of the disturbing behavior, and that multiple calls were dispatched to the area shortly before 9 AM Monday. They said the man has not yet been located, and that officers are providing a close patrol of the area. The post states that the department's Criminal Investigations Unit is working the case.
Anyone who spots the man in the photos, sees anything suspicious, or may have any information is asked to contact the Temple Police Department at (254) 298-5500.
Several Facebook users have shared both posts, and some say they've seen the man in the area before. Please be careful you visit this or any other park or trail in our area. If you frequent them alone or know someone who does, please make them aware and maybe get a group together to go with them. Safety in numbers.
