Temple Police Investigating Shooting at Canyon Creek Town Homes

The Temple Police Department is investigating after a man was shot on New Year's Eve.

In a media release, Temple PD spokesman Cody Weems reported that the shooting occurred around 9:45 PM Tuesday at the Canyon Creek Town Homes, 1476 Canyon Creek Drive.

Responding officers were advised that two groups of people got into an argument before a man brandished a firearm and shot, striking another man in the leg.

The victim was transported to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police have not released the name of the victim or any potential suspects. The shooting remained under investigation Thursday afternoon.
