Temple Police Investigating Shooting on French Avenue

The Temple Police Department is investigating a frightening incident that reportedly took place on French Avenue early Thursday morning.

Temple PD spokesman Chris Christoff reports that a shooting occurred in the 600 block of West French at approximately 5:45 AM. The victim told police he was approached by a male stranger who fired a single round, then fled the scene.

The victim was hit, and was transported to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The victim described the gunman as a white or Hispanic male wearing a black hoodie and red sweatpants. No further information was available Thursday afternoon.
