Temple Police Make Two Arrests After Fatal Stabbing

UPATE: Our partners at News 10 report that two people are in custody after the 68-year-old victim, 68-year-old Rose Davis, passed away as a result of her injuries.

Police had not released the suspect's names or more information as of late Friday morning.

Detectives with the Temple Police Department are searching for a suspect after a stabbing that left a woman with life-threatening injuries Thursday night.

Officers were dispatched to the Bridge Apartments, 404 South Fryers Creek Circle, around 9:50 PM, where they found the victim. She was transported to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center. Her identity was not released

Investigators say the suspect was described as a black man in a red t-shirt and black shorts weighing around 230 pounds.

In other crime news out of Temple, police said Thursday that a man initially suspected in two shootings has been released, and his twin brother has been arrested and charged.

According to police, one of two people shot at a residence in the 500 block of South 16th Street on the evening of Tuesday, June 9 initially identified 38-year-old Frederick Banks as the shooter. Frederick was arrested and booked into the Bell County Jail later that night.

Investigators later determined that Frederick's twin brother, Dederick, was the "primary aggressor". He was arrested Wednesday and charged with  two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Bell County Jail records indicated Dederick Bates remained in custody Friday in lieu of bonds totaling $400,000.
