Temple Shooting Suspect Behind Bars
A Killeen man was in the Bell County Jail Monday charged in connection to a road rage shooting that happened in Temple back in April.
In a news release, Temple Police Department spokesman Cody Weems identified the suspect as 28-year-old Ethan Rice.
Bell County Jail records indicated Rice was booked at 8:48 AM Monday, October 21 and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He remained in the Bell County Jail Monday afternoon. No bond information had been posted as of the time of this article's composition.
According to Weems, police were called to the 2500 block of NOrth General Brice Drive at 7:54 AM on April 17, 2019 in response to a shooting. They found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.
Investigators learned that the victim and another driver were involved in a road rage incident along Interstate 35. The victim decided to pull over and exit his vehicle, at which point Rice allegedly stopped next to him and the two argued. Rice reportedly pulled a gun and the victim put his hands up and backed away from Rice's vehicle, but police say Rice fired on the suspect and fled the scene.
An issues for Rice's arrest was issued on October 15. He was arrested Monday by the Bell County Sheriff's Office.
