A man who raped a Temple girl in November 2018 was recently arrested.

According to our news partners at KWTX, Dakota James Meyer-Johnson, 19, of Temple, was arrested on December 20 for sexual assault of a child.

Meyer-Johnson waived his Miranda rights and told investigators with the Temple Police Department that he fondled the girl over her clothing and then proceeded to have sexual intercourse.

The victim, a girl under the age of 17, described Meyer-Johnson as a family friend and told the Children’s Advocacy Center in Belton that the two were hanging out in her room when she fell asleep. When the girl woke up she discovered her clothes were removed from the waist down.

Meyer-Johnson climbed on top of the victim after she awoke and a struggle ensued. The girl was able to push Meyer-Johnson off and locked herself in the bathroom.

The bond for Meyer-Johnson was set at $100,000. The latest inmate listing at the Bell County jail does not include Meyer-Johnson.
