Gov. Abbott has signed an executive order ordering bars to close at Noon Friday (June 26), and some restaurants are limited to 50% occupancy beginning Monday (June 29).

According to News 10, "Governor Greg Abbott today issued an executive order limiting certain businesses and services as part of the state’s effort to contain the spread of COVID-19."

The order comes after COVID-19 cases continue to rise in Texas.  The Governor has said if the positivity rate climbs above 10%, then further action would have to happen to prevent the spread of the virus.

The order requires all bars and similar establishments to close at Noon today if they receive more than 51% of their gross receipts from the sale of alcoholic beverages.  Businesses can remain open for takeout service, including alcohol to go.

Restaurants that draw less than 50% of their gross receipts from the sale of alcohol can remain open for dine-in, but can't exceed 50% occupancy beginning Monday, June 29.

Other businesses that must close are tubing and rafting services.

Outdoor gatherings of 100 or more people must be approved by local governments with certain exemptions.

This really deals a tough blow to Central Texas, with the 4th of July right around the corner and so many events that can't take place now.

Please be safe out there, and we hope this is short lived and COVID-19 cases start going down and businesses can reopen soon.
