Texas Brewery Combines Pickle Brine and Gose to Make Sour Pickle Beer
Pickle science run amok has given us pickle juice soda, pickle juice freezer pops, and even pickle gum. If you've reached a level of pickle obsession that would drive you to try that stuff, then a new beer from a Texas brewery is right up your alley.
Martin House Brewing Co. is shipping its Best Maid Sour Pickle Beer across the Lone Star State. In our neck of the woods, you'll have to drive down to Austin to get your hands on some. You'll have to hurry, though. According to their website, Martin House's briny brew is only available for a limited time, though they plan to bring it back next summer.
I don't know about you, but I'm morbidly curious. I'm not even that into pickles, but I am a sucker for novelty flavors, especially when it comes to beer. Aside from wanting to try new and weird things, I think trying these things with other people can give you a little insight into who they are. (Kind of like a craft beer version of the Allegory of the Vinegar Tasters.)
Have you tried pickle beer? If you haven't, do you want to? Let us know in the comments.
