Texas Church Shooter Identified

Police have released the identity of a man who fatally shot two people at a church in White Settlement, Texas Sunday morning before being fatally shot by a volunteer security guard.

KXAS-TV reports that Keith Thomas Kinnunen, 43, of River Oaks was wearing a costume - including a fake beard - when he approached 64-year-old West Freeway Church of Christ deacon Anton Wallace, pulled out a shotgun, and fired, killing Wallace. Kinnunen fire again and wounded 67-year-old Richard White, who later passed away as a result of his injuries.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that Kinnunen was then fatally shot by volunteer security team member Jack Wilson. The Associated Press reports that Wilson is a former Hood County reserve deputy and a firearms instructor.

Kinnunen's criminal record includes charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and theft of property in Texas, aggravated assault in Oklahoma, and possession of an illegal weapon in New Jersey. He also had a history of unpaid traffic tickets.

Investigators were searching Kinnunen's home Monday and working to determine a motive for the shooting.
