Texas GLO & Coast Guard to Begin Removing Displaced Vessels
The hurricane cleanup has reached its next step.
The Texas Land Office in press release say they've teamed up with the Coast Guard to start removing all the displaced vessels from coastal waterways. They have up to 300 displaced and sunken vessels that have to be attended to.
Texas GLO Commissioner George P. Bush said, "With the magnitude of the damage from Hurricane Harvey, there is no doubt this will require a long recovery. The GLO's Oil Spill Prevention and Response team is proud to partner with the U.S. Coast Guard to locate and remove vessels rendered inoperable by Hurricane Harvey."
A Hurricane Harvey vessel owner has a hotline they can call for information about the vessel removal operation. It's 877-458-9377.
Texas GLO says that it considers all of the these vessels a threat to the environment, and an imminent and unreasonable threat to public health, safety and welfare.
So kids, all those "forts" you've set up, yea, they're going away.
