Texas Puppy Rescued After Heroin Overdose
A puppy that suffered a heroin overdose in its owner's truck is expected to make a full recovery, and its former owners now face charges.
According to the Carrolton Texas Police Department's Facebook page, patrol officers found the puppy in the floorboard of a truck outside of a Home Depot last week. Police say the humans who owned the truck were found inside the hardware store "switching price tags". They were arrested for heroin possession, as well as fraudulent destruction, removal, or concealment of writing.
Meanwhile, the honorary K-9, dubbed "Pup" by officers, was taken to Carrollton's North Texas Emergency Pet Clinic for care. The tough pup is expected to make a full recovery, and offers to adopt the animal have been pouring in from across the state.
