If your commute along Highway 36/Airport Road in Temple was a little slow this morning, this is why.

Our engineer was stuck in the crawl and snapped the picture above. You can see firefighters and police assisting after a tractor trailer jackknifed on eastbound Airport Road.

Thanks to Temple Fire & Rescue, we now have more information.

In a news release, TF&R reported that the single-vehicle crash occurred around 8 AM. The driver struck the guardrail, then skidded a short distance and came to a stop near Research Boulevard.

Paramedics treated the driver for minor injuries at the scene. Thankfully, that driver should be ok. Physically, anyway.

As of the 10 o'clock hour, Temple fire crews and Grones Environmental continued their clean-up efforts at the scene.

In case you've been cloistered indoors the past couple of days, roads in Central Texas has been slick, and this morning's fog created visibility issues. We hate to see a crash, but we're glad the driver was able to walk away.
