Two Arrested in Killeen Dating Site Ambush Case
Two people accused of luring a man to a Killeen hotel for a meeting with a woman and ambushing him were arrested Friday.
In a media release, KPD spokesperson Ofelia Miramontez reported that officers were called to to the Econo Lodge at 606 East CenTex Expressway at 7:26 on Wednesday, August 9.
When they arrived, the victim said he'd arranged to meet a woman through an online dating service. When he entered the woman's room, he was reportedly confronted by a man with a gun and robbed.
Officers located the suspects - 18-year-old Carletra Agnie Suggs and 22-year-old Dwayne Preston Williams - in the hotel room where the robbery allegedly occurred.
According to records, both suspects were booked into the Bell County Jail shortly after 1 PM on Friday, August 11 after stays in the Killeen City Jail. Both remained in the Bell County Jail Saturday morning. Records indicate that both suspects are residents of Killeen.
Suggs has been charged with prostitution and aggravated robbery. She was being held in lieu of $103,000 bond.
Williams was charged with failing to identify as a fugitive/intent to give false information and two counts of aggravated robbery. His bonds totaled $105,000.
