Rescue workers used air bags to save a man trapped in a flipped truck at a busy Waco intersection Monday afternoon.

Neil Klaeser with our news partner, KWTX, reports that the truck crashed at the intersection of North 29th St. and West Waco Drive around 1:35 PM. Witnesses told police the driver was speeding through the intersection and lost control during a turn, striking a median. The vehicle may have rolled as many as three times.

The driver, who was reportedly partially ejected from the vehicle, became trapped beneath the roof of the truck. Once firefighters were able to use the airbags to free him, it was determined that the  man's injuries were life-threatening.

The man's name was not released. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
