Video Shows Murder Suspects Confronted, Arrested in Killeen
Two of three men suspected of murdering a Lincoln, Nebraska woman during a home invasion last month were arrested in Killeen Friday during a tense confrontation captured on video.
The Killeen Daily Herald's Emily Hilley-Sierzchula reports that 26-year-old Damon Devon Williams and 25-year-old Taahyne Patterson were arrested by Department of Public Safety troopers. A witness to the arrest captured the amateur video below.
Bell County Jail records indicate that Williams was booked at 1:56 PM Friday and charged with first degree felony murder. Patterson was booked at 2:08 PM. Charges had not yet been listed at press time, nor had bond information. However, Hilley-Sierzchula reports that the men are scheduled to be extradited to Nebraska to answer for their alleged crime.
The Lincoln Journal reports that Williams, Patterson, and another man, Dante Williams, are suspected of fatally shooting 36-year-old Jessica Brandon at a Lincoln home on July 31. (Dante Williams was reportedly arrested in Omaha today.)
According to a police report obtained by the Journal, the shooting happened shortly after 3:39 AM during a home invasion. Surveillance footage shows intruders entering the home, then exiting three minutes later.
KOLN-TV reports that four children and three adults were in the home when the break-in occured. The victim's fiance, Michael Robertson, reportedly hid drugs inside a shed after the shooting and before authorities arrived. He was arrested and faces drug charges.
