Two Waco attorneys were in jail late last week after allegedly trying to hire an undercover police officer to kill a man accused of indecency with a child.

Paul Gately with our partners at News 10 reports that 45-year-old Seth Andrew Sutton and 33-year-old Chelsea Tijerina were arrested Friday and charge with solicitation of capital murder.

According to police, the two met with an undercover cop on May 14 and offered $300 for the officer to purchase a "clean gun" with which to kill Tijerina's ex-husband, Marcus Beaudin. On May 20, the officer sought the help of the Texas Rangers, and the next day met with the pair again to discuss the details of the murder, which would happen at Beaudin's home.

There's another layer of craziness to all this. Beaudin was arrested back in February and charged with indecency with a child after being accused of touching a 10-year-old family member inappropriately. News 10 reports that Beaudin has not been indicted, and his attorney denies the accusation.

Sutton, interestingly enough, was once a Democratic candidate for McLennan County District Attorney, but dropped out of the primary.

McLennan County Jail records indicated Sutton and Tijerina remained in custody Sunday afternoon in lieu of $1 million bond each.

Waco police continue to investigate the alleged murder-for-hire scheme.
