Rising Waco, Texas Rap Artist Arrested With 3 Others on Robbery Charges
Add a promising career to a personal life full of drama, and you most likely will wind up with trouble. That seems to be what's happening to well-known Waco, Texas rap artist Wesley Takquan Lewis, also known as 'Hotboy Wes'.
Our news partner KWTX is reporting that the 26-year-old rapper has been arrested along with three others on a robbery warrant from the Hewitt Police Department by the U.S. Marshals Service Lone Star Fugitive Task Force.
Lewis was also charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, and theft of a firearm.
This isn't the first time he's faced charges.
Two years ago, KWTX reported that Lewis was accused by the mother of his children of running her off the road with the kids in the car, who were three and six at the time.
He was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and two counts of endangering a child, after witnesses told police it looked like he was trying to push her vehicle into the cement barrier.
Lewis reportedly claimed he was just trying to see his children.
Seven months ago, even though he had not yet released a full-length album, his mixtapes were getting some buzz, and he was growing a solid fanbase, according to chaospin.com.
The last posted video on his official YouTube channel was from three months ago:
With his current legal problems, it may be a while before Hotboy Wes can get back in the studio.
