Wanted Man Who Taunted Police on Facebook Arrested
A man who commented on his own wanted poster on a Bell County Constable's Facebook page was arrested in Midland Wednesday.
Bell County Pct. 3 Constable Thomas Prado shared D'andre Green's wanted poster Monday, and Green commented, claiming to be on an island sipping mojitos. Prado wrote back, and he and Green had people rolling. The posts elicited responses ranging from laughing emojis to animated GIFs expressing pure shock at the idea that a wanted man would so brazenly taunt police.
You may think it's all bad blood now that Green is in custody, but Prado told our partners at News 10 that's not the case.
"I can't tell you what he said, but we talked," Prado said. "He's an OK guy. I don't have a problem with him."
Green was wanted on a probation violation stemming from the assault of a family member. News 10's Chelsea Edwards reports he was taken into custody at a store in Midland with assistance from Prado. According to a Facebook post from his office, it was an "easy arrest".
Prado often posts wanted posters to Facebook, and says suspects often write him privately to ask about turning themselves in. This was the first time he's had someone publicly comment to trade barbs, but he seems to have a good sense of humor about it.
Personally, I think all of us need to nurture a good sense of humor in the Facebook age. Otherwise you'll go insane from the dumpster fire fumes.
