In the market for a wild horse or burro? You'll want to be at the Bell County Expo Center October 12 and 13 for the 24th annual Wild Horse and Burro Expo.

The expo will feature 50 adult and yearling horses and burros that once roamed free on public lands. The animals will have been removed as part of a U.S. Department of the Interior's Bureau of Land Management program that works to maintain healthy herds and protect range land resources by humanely reducing the number of wild horses and burros. Since the program's inception, over 235,000 animals have been sold to good homes.

The sale will take place from Noon to 6 PM Friday, October 12 and 8 AM to 4 PM Saturday, October 13.

The event will also feature a show and demonstration with trained horses and burros beginning at 9 AM on the 13th. The show is open to owners of any BLM wild horses or burros. If you're interested in participating, call 866-468-7826 or find an online registration form here.

Gentling demonstrations will take place throughout both days of the expo as well.
