Work on Old Waco Road in Temple Completed Early
It's nice to report some good traffic news for once!
City officials announced Friday afternoon that work near the intersection of Old Waco Road and Brandon Drive in Temple has been completed.
Back on September 12, we shared a news release from the City of Temple announcing work would be taking place from September 17 to October 1. The work was completed a few days ahead of schedule, meaning the road is now open to through traffic.
City of Temple Representative Shannon Gowan said crews were working to replace box culverts at the Thompson Channel south of Conner Park and just north of Brandon Drive. Those replacements, along with improvements to other nearby drainage channels, will hopefully alleviate flooding events in the neighborhood.
Meanwhile, overnight I-35 closures of both north and southbound lanes in Temple that were set to take place October 1 through October 4 have been postponed for a week.
