2018 South 40 Outdoor Expo Success For Waco

KWTX's Chelsea Edwards reported that a celebration of any and everything outdoors took place this weekend in Waco.

The 2018 South 40 Outdoor Expo took place at the Extraco Events Center in Waco from Friday March 23rd to Sunday March 25th. The Expo gave Central Texans numerous different options to enjoy the spring season that's beginning to come into full swing.

There were many vendors on hand selling recreational items, as well as home products to the public there.

There was also the South 40 Fishing Trail Championship Finals that took place Sunday on Lake Waco. There were 25 teams that took part in the fishing championships, but only one team could win the first place prize of $15,000.

The team of Jason Metzgar and Brandon Geeslin were the winners of the first plaze price of $15,000. The two men took home the handsome prize after catching 35 pounds of fish combined.
