Fort Hood Woman Seeks Funds for Brain Cancer Treatment

After Spc. Stephen Burch was medically discharged, he, his wife Melissa, and their three children found themselves facing Melissa's brain cancer diagnosis without insurance.

Though her parents are trying to add her to their insurance, Melissa is in the process of trying to raise money so that she can receive radiation treatment in Houston. A golf-ball sized tumor was removed from her brain last month, but five to seven percent could not be removed because of the location in the brain.

Doctors have said that the cancer is incurable, but Melissa believes she can beat it.
