Hilary Clinton Set to Testify on Libya

Four months after the deadly attack on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is scheduled to deliver her testimony concerning the security disaster that left four Americans dead.

Secretary Clinton has missed prior sessions before Congress due to illnesses including a virus, a concussion and a blood clot. She will testify publicly today before a House and Senate committee, and though the main focus will be on Benghazi, it is likely that the recent Algerian hostage standoff will also be addressed.

Wednesday’s hearing will be a forum for lawmakers to question Secretary Clinton on what information her office might have had prior to the Benghazi attack, including requests for added security. She will also be questioned about what she feels can be done to improve security in the future as she prepares to leave the State Department. Senator John Kerry of Massachusetts has been nominated to replace Mrs. Clinton.
