New al Qaeda Threats

A new threat posted online by al Qaeda promises “shocking” attacks on targets in the United States and other Western nations.

The threats appeared on the Ansar al-Mujahidin network Sunday under the headline, “Map of al Qaeda and its future strikes”. These strikes, the post claims, would be carried out by lone-wolf operatives and include the use of vehicles rigged with explosives. The post makes several threats against France in retaliation against recent French-led military strikes in northern Mali.

The Ansar al-Mujahidin network is a popular jihadist forum which regularly publishes propaganda messages from al Qaeda and its affiliates.
