Pedestrian Killed on I-35 Frontage Road in Troy

A man is dead after being hit by a pickup while walking along the northbound Interstate 35 frontage road in Troy Monday night.

KWTX reports that the collision occurred near Lely Drive around 9:30 PM. The pedestrian was hit by a 2004 Ford Ranger, the driver of which stayed at the scene to render aid. CPR was reportedly being performed on the victim when emergency responders arrived, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim's name had not been released as of Noon Tuesday.

Officials did not order an autopsy, and no charges are expected to be filed against the driver.
