Temple's Ronald McDonald House is a beautiful, quiet place for families to stay while their kids are in the hospital, and they were given a huge donation Monday afternoon.

31 Central Texas McDonald's participated in the Share the Love donation drive in February. McDonald's customers were asked at checkout if they'd like to donate to the RMH, and the drive was an enormous success. On Monday, March 19, $33,001 of the money raised was presented to Temple's Ronald McDonald House to help them continue the incredible work they do to serve families of children facing serious illnesses and injuries.

In case you're not familiar with what they do, the Ronald McDonald House Charities provide long-term lodging to families whose children are hospitalized. Ronald McDonald Houses such as the one in Temple allow families to have a place to sleep, shower, have home cooked meals, and even do laundry while staying close to the hospital where their child is receiving care. That service takes a great deal of stress and financial strain off the families so that they can focus on their child's health and recovery.

The Temple Ronald McDonald House is a wonderful facility at which volunteers maintain the grounds (16 rooms, a playground, and a memorial garden) and cook meals for the families staying there. It's a real treasure in our community, and it's always fantastic to see them receive generous donations such as this. Congratulations!
