A $9.5 million Texas Department of Transportation project on U.S. Highway 190 will begin Monday. The goal of the construction is to add capacity to U.S. 190 between W.S. Young Drive and Farm-to-Market 2410.

A turnaround will be added at U.S. 190 and FM 2410. The project will also add one inside lane on the eastbound and westbound sides of the highway from W.S. Young Drive in Killeen to FM 2410 in Harker Heights.

Other aspects of the project include upgrading culverts and bridges to accommodate added lanes and adding a Jersey wall to barricade opposing traffic lanes.

The completion of the project is estimated at fall 2014.

Delays, congestion, and lane closures should be expected in the construction zone, especially overnight.
