15 Pets You CAN’T Own in the City of Temple
Temple is a great place to live if you're an animal lover. There are two dedicated dog parks, people parks with lots of room to run around with your little buddy on a leash, Pepper Creek Trail (where my dog loves to sniff every tree in the place), and access to so many great vets.
Cameron Park Zoo is a short drive north of us, and I personally love watching the ducks and turtles over at Miller Park.
You can have a pet miniature pig as long as it weighs less than 150 pounds, and you can even keep peacocks if you stick within City ordinances.

As pet-friendly as Temple is, there are reasonable limits to which furry (or scaly) friends we can keep in and around our houses. I mean, owning a lion or a monkey seems great in your imagination, but let's be real: there's just no way your neighbors within city limits are going to put up with the constant roaring and poo flinging.
Yes, monkeys are included in the list of animals the City of Temple just downright frowns upon people keeping as pets. Hey, I'd love to have a monkey butler as much as the next guy, but honestly, I'd probably end up ruining him like Homer Simpson ruined Mojo.
Let's take a look at 15 animals you absolutely cannot own as a pet in the City of Temple, then consider visiting the Temple Animal Shelter when you have a chance to find a new friend who could really use a loving home like yours. I adopted my dog, Leela, from the shelter 5 years ago, and playing in the backyard with her is the best part of every day.
