UPDATE: Formal charges of indecent exposure and resisting arrest have been made against Justin Wayne Allen. He remained in the Bell County Jail as of 3:45 PM Thursday, May 17. His bonds totaled $13,000.
A man suspected of exposing himself to visitors of Temple's Pepper Creek Hike and Bike Trail was in the Bell County Jail Wednesday night.
Our news partner, KWTX, reports that 28-year-old Justin Wayne Allen was arrested on North Pea Ridge Road in Temple Wednesday afternoon.
Jail records indicate he was booked into the Bell County Jail at 7:04 PM. No charges or bond information were listed when we checked, but KWTX reports that he's been charged with indecent exposure.
Arlene Ordunez posted two photos of Allen to Facebook after he allegedly tried to assault her daughter-in-law while the woman was walking her dog along the trail.
According to Ordunez, Allen exposed himself to the woman and began touching himself, then ran towards her. The woman screamed, alerting a nearby bicyclist who happened to be an off-duty police officer. Allen reportedly fled, and the officer left the woman with an older couple while he pursued Allen.
Temple police responded to shares of the social media post by increasing patrols in the are and opening an investigation of the incident, resulting in Wednesday's arrest.
