Brakes Fail On Waco School Bus
Seven Waco middle school students ended up in the hospital with non-serious injuries Thursday when the breaks failed during their bus ride to G.W. Carver Middle School. The breaks went out as the bus traveled down hill on North 19th Street near Lake Shore Drive in Waco.
The roller coaster ride ended after the bus went across all four lanes of Lake Shore Drive and then through a concrete barrier. The bus finally came to rest in the parking lot of the Riverbend Shopping Center.
Goldstar Transit provides transportation to the Waco School district. Manager David Gray said the transit company was thankful a lot more students did not get seriously injured. 21 students in all were involved in the crash.
