It's a shame when people put their trust in social media influencers online, then it turns out those influencers have intentions of scamming people. Well, now one popular Texas social media influencer is accused of just that.
Brittany Dawn Accused of Scamming Her Followers
You may have seen videos made by Texas fitness social media influencer Brittany Dawn in the past.
According to the Dallas Morning News, she's accused of violating consumer protection laws and misleading followers with eating disorders.
As early as 2014, her LLC, Brittany Dawn Fitness sold online fitness packages that cost between $300 to $1000 to consumers.
Customers were reportedly under the impression that their plans would be individualized and that Davis would provide coaching and check-in‘s. Customers say that never happened, according to a lawsuit filed by the Texas Attorney General‘s office.
Texas Attorney General Is Suing Her
In a lawsuit filed February 1st, the Texas Attorney General got fed up with the unlawful practices Britney allegedly used, and is now seeking between 250,000 and $1 million in penalty and court fees.
Her Apology
Back in 2019, Britney issued an apology to her customers, offering partial refunds to customers affected by the alleged scam:

She's also making money behind her massive social media following, which includes over 250,000 followers on Youtube, 460,000 followers on Twitter, and over 945,000 followers on Tiktok .
The Dallas Morning News reports she received a PPP loan of $20,8000 for her fitness business.
If the allegations prove to be true, hopefully the money she is being sued for is returned to the customers she's accused of duping!
