Area veterinarians are warning the public that dog flue has made its way to Central Texas.

KXAN reports that a highly contagious strain of canine influenza known as H3N2 has returned is currently spreading through the canine population.

It's reported that this flu isn't deadly unless symptoms are ignored. Keep an eye on your dog for symptoms like coughing, nasal discharge, decreased appetite and energy, and in the more extreme cases, fever.

Watch for the symptoms in your dog because the flu sucks, for everyone and everything. And if your dog does get sick, be sure to read 'The Stand' by Stephen King to them. It'll make them feel better.
