If you're going to rob someone, don't be rude about it.

KWTX is reporting that there was a robbery in Harker Heights Wednesday night.

It seems that just after 10 p.m. a black man wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black cargos shorts, and white Nike Jordan shoes with black bottoms came into the Murphy's USA station in the 2000 block of Heights Drive. He brandished a silver revolver and demanded all the money in the register. Pretty standard, but here's where he became rude.

Besides the money, he demanded two cartons of Newport 100's cigarettes. Really? Why just two? I'm mean, in for a penny in for every damn carton of Newport 100's you got. If you just want two, then be nice about it and pay for the damn things. It's not like you're broke. You're flush with unearned income from the register. If you're not going to take everything, then pay for something for goodness sake.

Plus, as a bonus, it'll look good when you get caught. Sure, your honor, I whipped out a deadly weapon for some chump change, endangering my freedom for years to come, but at least I paid for the smokes.

If you know anything about the rude robber, you're ask to call the Harker Heights Police Department at 254-953-5400.
