Now, I would be lying if I said I've spent a lot of time in Temple.

I've lived in Killeen almost all my life, so I know it like the back of my hand. Now that I have a job out here in Temple, I'm out here more and realizing that not only is Temple interesting and full of history, but it's beautiful and its downtown has a great vintage vibe that I genuinely love.

I think all of that will be on display tonight (Friday, October 10) in Downtown Temple for Oktoberfest, and I hope you can make it out!

Temple is so authentic, and the people are so nice. I have yet to meet anyone who wasn't sporting a smiling face and a warm greeting, which brings me to this evening's big event.

I was making my way through Downtown Temple when a young man stopped me to ask,  "You’re coming to the event, right?". I didn’t know exactly what he was talking about. He said, "Octoberfest, silly! It's absolutely amazing. Have you never been?"

I told him no and his face of shock was just too hilarious. I promised him that I would be out here taking pictures for the radio station, and he explained to me that it’s such a beautiful time a year for Temple because you do get to see the leaves actually change.

It’s so peaceful and the town comes together for authentic laughs and smiles. He explained to me that any local festival is something not to be taken for granted.

That's especially true when you consider that COVID-19 put a damper on everyone's mood over the past year and caused so many events to be cancelled.

Now Oktoberfest is back, and I'm hoping to see you and your family out there as I'm snapping pictures!
