I've found that the things closest to you are the things that you seem to miss. For example. Someone in East Texas might make a special trip to see Mother Neff State Park, while those of us who live near it, might not have even seen it yet.

With that thought in mind I took to Instagram and Facebook to show everyone some of the beauty that is right here in our backyard.

At Mother Neff State Park, just west of Moody, Texas, you can picnic, camp, fish, hike, and observe nature. There are three picnic pavilions that are available for rent. Swimming depends on river conditions.

There are 5 miles of trails to explore. And if the river won't allow you to swim, you sure as heck can fish. Bonus, you don't need a fishing license to fish in a state park.

Hiked out at Mother Neff today😍 #gooutside #hikingadventures #exploremore #motherneff #statepark
