Fire at Local Hotel Being Investigated

A fire reported around 7:00 p.m. Saturday at the Modern Inn in Killeen is being investigated.

The fire was located in a room on the top floor of the hotel. One person inside the room was evacuated, and the area was cleared by police and fire crews.

The room was damaged by the fire, and two other rooms were damaged by smoke.

The incident is being investigated as arson. No charges have been filed, but one suspect has been identified.
