Fort Hood officials confirmed Monday that a former Fort Hood soldier was one of 100 U.S. service members included in an online "kill list" posted by possible Islamic State agents, which also names more than 60 U.S. cities as ISIS targets, including seven in Texas.

A group calling itself the Islamic State Hacking Division posted the list late last week, and Defense Department officials spend much of the weekend notifying service members whose names were included. The list includes names, photos, and addresses of military personnel who participated in anti-ISIS campaigns, including the former Fort Hood soldier, several members of the U.S. Air Force stationed in Texas, and a Navy officer from Texas.

In addition, the Texas cities of Abilene, New Braunfels, San Antonio, Wyle, Fort Hood, Bedford, and Killeen are cited as ISIS targets, along with other cities in Louisiana, New Mexico, and many other U.S. States.

Fort Hood officials said the Department of the Army is working with local leaders and units to address online threats and help soldiers and their families to take measures to protect their safety in a statement issued Monday.

CBS News reported more information on the "kill list" yesterday evening:

Pentagon officials believe the list was compiled using public sources, most notably social media sites.
