We now know the name of a Fort Hood soldier who was found unresponsive in his residence on Saturday, June 1.

40-year-old Specialist Sherman Scott Henry of Jonesville, South Carolina was assigned to the 3rd Fires Squadron, 3rd Cavalry Regiment at Fort Hood. Spc. Henry, a veteran of Operation New Dawn, joined the military as a field artillery automated tactical data systems specialist in January of 2010. He was a decorated veteran who’d earned the Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Achievement Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.

Spc. Henry’s death is being investigated, and there has been no mention of foul play.
