Fort Hood Soldier’s Body Pulled From Stillhouse Hollow Lake [VIDEO]

A 26 year old Fort Hood soldier is dead after drowning at River’s Bend Park at Stillhouse Hollow Lake Sunday.

Christopher Kent Heinz was swimming with fellow soldiers when he submerged beneath the lake and never resurfaced. His friends attempted to find him, but were unsuccessful and called emergency officials. Authorities from the Bell County Sheriff’s Department, Parks and Wildlife, The US Army Corps of Engineers, Salado Fire Department and Morgan’s Point Dive team all assisted in the search effort. The search took nearly two hours. His body was discovered around 2:25 PM.

Heinz’s body was sent to Dallas to undergo an autopsy.
