90's kids and fans of nostalgic TV were treated to a fantastic question and answer panel featuring Karyn Parsons and Daphne Maxwell-Reid at the 2019 Bell County Comic Con.

Parsons, who played many a person my age's TV crush Hilary Banks, talked about overcoming doubt over whether she was fit for the role, being (playfully) harassed by Will Smith at her hostess job as she waited for a callback, and the infamous death of Hilary Banks' true love, Trevor.

Reid, whose husband Tim (of WKRP in Cincinnati fame) also hosted a panel this past weekend, talked about being "the other Aunt Viv", including her intense auditions with James Avery (aka Uncle Phil). She also told the story of how she learned she'd been the first African-American woman featured on the cover of Glamour Magazine in 1969.

Parsons and Reid took questions from fans in the audience and signed autographs both days of the Bell County Comic Con. They were incredibly sweet and funny, and it was so great having the opportunity to meet them and hear their stories.

If you missed the panel or just want to relive your favorite moments, check out the video above. (The video was just uploaded and may still be processing. It should appear in HD shortly.) We'll have more Bell County Comic Con videos soon, so stayed tuned. In the meantime, check out the links below for more panels, including a discussion with Tim Reid and some of the best anime voice performers in the biz.
