Happy New Year! First Bell County Baby Of 2022 Born In Killeen, Texas
According to superstition, babies born on New Year's Day are said to be lucky for life, and that luck will be shared by their families all year as well.
That's good news for a couple of Central Texas moms who brought in the new year with bouncing baby girls!
Meet the First Bell County Baby of 2022
Margarita Sonia Carranza was born at 1:49 a.m. Saturday, January 1st in Killeen at AdventHealth. She was the first baby to be born in Bell County for 2022.
The Killeen Daily Herald is reporting that Margarita is not only the first baby to be born in Killeen for the new year, but also the firstborn child of Martha Carranza, 29. Baby Margarita weighed 6 pounds, 15 ounces, and was 18¾ inches long.
Mom is ambitious, as not only is she starting off 2022 with a new baby, but she wants to start a new candle business as well.
Introducing The Second Bell County Baby of 2022
In Harker Heights late Saturday morning, Penny Lam of Belton gave birth to her fourth child and first girl at Seton Medical Center.
Delylah Lam burst on the scene at 11:20 a.m. Saturday. Her mom Penny says she was glad Delylah was a fast delivery!
Who Was The First Baby Born In Texas For 2022?
While hospitals across the state welcomed the first babies of 2022, it appears the first baby of the new year to be born in Texas would be Kaleth Lopez in El Paso. He was born at The Hospitals of Providence Memorial Campus.
KVIA-TV reports Kaleth came in at 6 pounds, 4 ounces, and just over 19 inches when he was born at 12:02 a.m. on January 1st, 2022. He is the third son for Jasmin Arras and Julian Lopez.
