How do you even begin to thank someone who's served and sacrificed for you and me? Well, a simple thank you card is a wonderful way to start.

Veterans Day is Wednesday, November 11, and the Temple Public Library wants to help ensure that local hospitalized veterans know how much we love and appreciate them.

Throughout October, you can visit the library's Youth Services desk on the first floor to grab some card-making supplies. Starting Wednesday, October 14, you can stop by the Adult Services desk on the second floor for supplies as well.

Once you and your family have put your cards together, library staff will put them in a quarantined area so they're safe for delivery to the Olin E. Teague Veterans' Medical Center on Veterans Day.

There's no age restriction to participate, so everyone's welcome to get involved.

If you'd like to make a card at home, you're welcome to do so and drop it off with library staff. They'll be happy to deliver it for you.

Library hours are:

Monday-Thursday 10AM to 9PM

Friday 10AM to 6PM

Saturday 10AM to 5PM

Sunday 1PM to 9PM

If you have any questions, feel free to call the Temple Public Library at (254) 298-5556.

The library offers fantastic programs for families and avid readers, such as virtual story times, the Great Books Club, and even a Short Story Book Club. Check out their Events Calendar to see what's coming up.

Thanks to the Temple Public Library for putting this together. Our veterans deserve all the thanks and praise we can give them.
